Take me home

Saving animals and seeing PAA pets in loving homes is what it is all about
As volunteers nothing rewards us more than to witness this happening
Words can not say enough .. but photos say it all....

Jack ( Ruski)

Hi Lynne and all the wonderful people at PAA
Just a quick update on Jack and the cats .. when we adopted Jack no-one was sure how he would react with cats .. Jack and the cats have come along way together in the three weeks since Jack has come to live with us .. the cats have gone from hating him to letting him curl up with them on the lounge chairs .. he is a great dog and has settled into our family very well .. he is fun and active and an absolute joy to have around .. we all love him to bits .. I have attached a picture of Jack and one of our cats (Aslan) taken one night whenthey where curled up together .. we will call in for a visit you all sometime and let you all see how happy he is.

Take Care

Elvis

Hello Lynne
Lynne seriously .. this is beyond ridiculous .. Elvis looks for all the world like he has lived here forever .. except that he would not be so skinny if he had! LOL .. Check out these pics .. keep in mind that it is now 8.20 and I have not even been home for 2 hours yet .. I think the little fella has finally found his Forever Home .. strike one displaced pup off your list and put it down to a happy ending .. Thank You for all your help today .. to say he has fitted right in is an understatement .. so it is all up from here for him now.

Cheers
Ally

Lily (Kelly)

Hi Lynne
Just a note to let you know that Kelly who I adopted from PAA May 2008 and now is doing wonderfully .. she is very gentle but still a little scared when strangers come into the house .. Lily is wonderful on the lead and just loves going to the areas but more than anything she loves to go in the car. She has made great friends with my daughters black lab and they have play dates once a week .. I have attached a couple of photos taken today 11th August 2008.

Sad new is we lost our lovely 9 year old Max recently.. so we are thinking we might get another small dog to keep her company .. many thanks for finding Lily for us .. she is a special member of our family now.

Cheers

Tilly (Suki)

Hi Lynne and Staff at PAA
Here are some pictures of Tilly .. she is doing well and is getting on with Ruby .. they have become quite good friends .. Tilly is happy to sleep at night when Ruby is snoring her head off close to Tilly .. the only time there was any problem was when I gave them a bone each and walked away .. I have since learnt my lesson .. Ruby is not at all an aggressive dog and is not use to other dogs being aggressive and does not know what to do in that situation .. she is use to sharing with other dogs .. I guess Tilly is not use to sharing and has learnt to be aggressive when it comes to food.

Tilly kisses Ruby every morning and is very patient while we wait for Rubes when we go walking of a morning .. she seems to understand she is an old girl .. while I am at school Tilly has stopped crying and barking and now lays next to the gate like Ruby and waits for me .. both girls are happy when I walk through of an afternoon.

Tilly wanted me to pass on this message when I told her I would contact you .. She said to say hello and thanks for everything .. she appreciated how nice you all were to her and she wants you to know she likes her new home .. she has a slow moving old sister .. but she loves her just the same .. she thinks she is pretty smart and knows a lot of stuff and thinks it is a good idea to copy a lot of what she does.

Take care Lynne and keep doing what you do

Anwyn (Emma)

Hello PAA
This is very belated email of pictures of Anwyn who came to live with us just over 2 years ago in 2006 .. when we took her home from your shelter the couple working at your shelter (I think English) asked us to send a photo of Emma .. I think she had been with you for about 3 months and had had a bad case of kennel cough which had made placement difficult .. as I hope you can see she has fully recovered and is a very happy and loving dog .. I hope you can include your work with Emma as a success story .. I really admire your work with the animal shelter and hope that you have many such success stories .. Emma/Anwyn has been a blessing to our lives and we would not have wanted to miss the joy of her being a member of our family.

Best wishes
Joy

Bella and Bits

Hi Lynne and all at PAA
These are our fur-babies Bella and Bits .. both of them came to us from PAA .. Bella is the silver tabby and she was about 18 months old when she came to live with us November 2007 .. she is a beautiful Daddy’s girl who loves to talk and cuddle and sleep in the sunshine .. Bits is the baby who is a bit tabby and a bit white cat .. and was about 9 weeks old when we adopted her .. she has been living with us a couple of weeks now .. she is a strong personality who chose us .. rather than the other way around .. Bits loves to play and adores her food.

After a couple of days checking each other out from opposite sides of the room they are now great mates who do almost everything together (as you can see from the pictures) and we can not imagine the house without either of them .. Forever home? Absolutely!

Thanks so much for both of our little ones

Bonnie

In the car to leave Clontarf .. What is happening now?
My pet duck Earl.
Dear All at Peninsula Aid
I thought you might like to hear about Bonnie's first few days in her new home .. she is a very lovable and delightful young lady who really wants to fit in and please us .. there have been remarkably few problems so far .. Bonnie comes into the house but not the carpetted areas (bedrooms and formal lounge room) .. and has very little trouble learning the limits .. at night she is allowed into the laundry only but has decided to sleep outside on a cane chair .. she is very well behaved .. except as you would expect with other dogs she meets on her walks .. but we manage with a harness rather than collar .. she loves to play with her toys .. her favourite is a duck that squeaks when she chews it or stands on it .. we also found that she likes on old plastic milk bottle with a little dry food in it .. I think she will wear that one out in a few days but it is easliy replaced of course .. she seems very happy and we are delighted .. her legs have healed well .. she has had a trip to the vet .. but I did not take the receipt from you so we paid for her injections and micorchip .. she was very good for the vet too.

Bye for now

Rajah

Rajah and Cagney
Rajah and Cagney
Hi Lynne and all at PAA
Rajah has a few health problems .we areRE spoling him till he comes good.Rajah likes to be snuggled with Cagney and Cagney sits with him watching T.V till Rajah falls asleep. Cagney has been known to put the matress on the floor so Rajah feels contentwith Cagney and not so stressed.

Sam (Taos)

Hi Lynne
Attached are a few photo's of Toas .. I have changed his name to Sam and he is settling in very well .. we went to our first obedience class last week which was a lot of fun .. as you can see he loves being inside we let him in at night and at the weekends however he sleeps outside .. we have only had one accident inside and he now lets us know when he needs to go out .. it does not take him long to learn the rules of the house .. I do not have many pot plants left but he is worth everyone that he has destroyed .. we have now build a garden up the back for he's bones.

Cheers

Dozer

Hello Lynne
Dozer is so spoilt it is not funny .. he has Brian and I wrapped around his paws .. he likes to sleep on either the sofa or he sleeps with Brian and I .. I find it very hard as to why his owners did not want him .. he has put on a couple of kilo's .. at the moment he is trying to talk to me as it is drive time .. even when he was getting his photo taken he was trying to talk as you will see in the pic with his mouth open .. Brian calls him snoozer all the time as it seems to suit him .. anyway thanks for such a great little dog .. we will call in if we are down that way .. the last pic was of him in his new drizabone.

Cheers for now
Sandra
