ROXY

Roxy's 10 years of Success
On 8th August 2009 I celebrated a very special milestone in my life .. it was 10 years since I was adopted as a one year old from Peninsula Animal Aid.

I think I am the luckiest pooch on earth to be sharing my life with such a caring .. kind and warm family.

In return my Mummy .. Daddy and 3 year old two legged sister show me everyday just how lucky they are that I am in their lives.

Thank You Peninsula Animal Aid for taking me in as stray in 1999 and for helping me to find love .. kindness and fantastic care with my family.

PS: I have attached a couple of photos of myself.

Ziggy and Tabatha

Afternoon Lynne and PAA Staff
Just a quick note to let you know that Ziggy who was adopted in July 2009 is doing well and happy in his new home.

Ziggy is a happy boy and very affectionate .. he goes overboard with the licking at times but thats OK.

Ziggy attended an obedience course where he showed great improvement.

He also loves playing with his friends at the dog park.

Ziggy is a social butterfly .. swimming on the weekends and sleeping all day with his legs in the air.

Thanks to PAA Ziggy got a second chance at finding a loving home.

PS: We also adopted a kitten who we named Tabatha from PAA 14 year ago in 1996 .. she is now 14.5 years old and still with us.

Tabatha is doing well and is very affection in her older years .. I have also attached a photo of her.

Jack   (Ruski)

Dear Lynne and all the wonderful people at PAA
Hi it is Jack here .. Look at me now!
It has been a year today (28th July 2008) since I was adopted from the shelter by my lovely family .. and what can I say......LIFE IS GREAT!

I am loved so much by them all and totally spoilt rotten .. we have lots of fun together and often go to the park and the beach .. I also get taken on a nice long walk every day.

I have enclosed some photos of me and my kids taken at Beachmere and also a photo of me snuggled down in my bed for the night .. don't I just look so happy and contented!

Thank you all so much for taking care of me while I lived at the shelter and keep up the great work you all do .. if it was not for you guys goodness knows where I may have ended up.

I definitely know I would not be enjoying the fairytale life I have now .. I will come in and visit you in December and say hello again.

Love

Chester   (Checking In)

Hi all at PAA
I know you all love success stories so I thought I would give an update on Chester.

Chester has settled in fantastically .. he gives our German Sheperd a run for his money and adores our other two cats Lizzy and Charlie.

Chester or Cheshire as he is affectionatly called loves playing mountain lion on the rocks in the front yard and talking to himself as he catches things in the garden.

He is a right pig and is always convinced that there are not enough biscuits in the bowl .. he also chases feet and fingers under the blankets at night.

Thank you so much for setting us up together .. he is a great friend!

Zumba and Tilly

Hey Guys
Just a quick letter to say it was the best idea to get our 2 dogs from the PAA .. we adopted Zumba first and we could not take him for a week so we went up every day and walked him so that he would take to us when we took him to settle in at his new home and family.

Well 12 months went by and Zumba was going so well we decided to maybe get another as a pal for our boy .. I walked in to the PAA and saw Tilly she was perfect .. a little smaller than Zumba though .. I took photos on my phone and took them to show my wife she loved her.

As we were looking at the photo's we noticed that Tilly had the same tag that Zumba had when he was there so we had to get her .. I took Zumba over to the PAA and we gave them a run together .. they hit it of straight away.

The staff at the PAA new the correct way to meet and greet the two .. maybe if i did not do that way we may not have had the same result .. so to anyone who reads this letter trust the staff and volunteers they know what they are doing.

Thank you all very much!
Michael and Kristy O'Hara

Rocky   (Rocket)

Hi Lynne and PAA Staff
After several different homes in his short life 15 week old Rocky who is a Jack Russell X Fox Terrier has joined our family.

Rocky has quickly settled in and developed a routine in less than two weeks especially since he was already well toilet trained and a very obedient little fellow.

He is enjoying walks every morning and afternoon and loves playing in the back yard with the kids chasing balls and chewing on his toys and strangely our garden mulch!

So far only one pair of old shoes have been mistaken for one of his toys .. Rocky loves to sit on the verandah in the morning sun after his walk and in the evening has his own foam chair which he insists on sitting in as soon as he has had dinner and it is getting dark.

Rocky is very particular about his meals and expects his breakfast as soon as we are up and his dinner straight after his afternoon walk .. while he loves sitting with us when we eat out on the deck he never asks for or expects to be fed from the table and just enjoys having people and children around him.

Despite this sensible eating plan our pup has put on over a kilogram since he has lived with us .. we are amused that he eats his veges before his dried food .. a very good example for the kids!

We had been resisting our children’s pleading for a dog for some time .. mainly as we had a 17 year old cat up to a couple of months ago .. however Rocky has fitted in brilliantly and has brought much joy to our family and friends already and we can not imagine life without him now.

We are so pleased to be able to offer Rocky a family to love him and he is returning the favour tenfold.

Thank You
John and Helene

Jazz  (Eos)

Hello old friends!
You may remember me as Jazz .. I was put in your after hours bin with my babies .. even though I was just a baby myself at about ten months old.

I was very skinny and was nervous around the other kitties but I loved all the cuddles I got from all the humans.
Jazz
Then one day in late January 2009 a young man came to my rescue .. he hugged me .. I looked into his eyes and that was that .. I said farewell to you all and went with Paul who is my new daddy to meet my new mummy Erin.

When I got to my new home I stepped out of my cage and went straight into my mummies arms .. they decided that my name should be Eos .. which they tell me is the goddess of the dawn so now I like to wake them up as early as I can!
Jazz
My first week here I slept and slept and slept but once I started to feel better I realised that I OWNED this house .. I love MY couch .. I love MY bed and I love MY people cups and will not drink from anything less.
I love nothing more than napping on my back with my tongue out .. getting lots and lots of belly rubs and running around like a crazy person .. OOPs I mean kitty.

Thank you all for taking such good care of me when I was there and do not worry .. I think my mummy and daddy love me very much and they show me all the time .. sometimes with second dinners so I am now very healthy and extremely happy!

Lots of love
Eos

Casper

Hi Lynne
Here is my success story of Casper as promised:

Casper has been a wonderful addition to our family .. he is a great mate for our boys Ashton and Oscar .. he is so gentle with them and so well behaved .. the boys just love Casper as soon as Ashton gets home from school he heads straight out to play with Casper.

He loves playing ball and chasing the boys around the yard .. Casper loves his walks and especially loves going to the dog park where we hit tennis balls to him .. he loves the little car trips to pick Ashton up from school .. he is a hit with everyone .. we meet often getting a pat and cuddle from strangers.

Sometimes Oscar will sneak Casper in for a cuddle on his bed .. Casper loves special cuddles from Oscar and will often stay very still and quiet so as not to give away that he is in Oscar's bed!!

Welcome to our home Casper .. we could not have wished for a perfect dog.

Thank you to PAA for bringing Casper into our lives.

Cindy

Hey Peninsula Animal Aid and Friends
My name is Cindy and I lived with you for a couple of days back in August 2008 when I was between families .. I just wanted to thank you for looking after me and finding me a good home.

I like my new family they give me lots of bones and I share their bed with them at night and sometimes when I want a nap during the day.

I have made heaps of Doggy friends and love running up and down the fence with the dogs next door .. I thought I would put in some photos so you can see some of the fun I have.

So again thank you for doing such a wonderful job and keep up with the good work.

Tilly   (Tigerlilly)

Hi Lynne and everyone at PAA
Just a quick email to let you know how well Tilly has adapted to her new home .. she is extremely happy and quickly adapted to the slight name change.

Also you were right when you told us that Tilly had a beautiful nature .. she is very affectionate and particularly loves playing with the boys and is extremely protective of them .. Tilly enjoys her walks on the beach and always loves a game of ball.

Thank you for a lovely pet

Sunny Jack

Dear Lynn and Staff of PAA
Hi it's Sunny Jack here .. I just wanted to write and let you know I love my new home and my new human Mum and Dad .. I have been with them 3 weeks now.

They have a cat too I just want to be friends with her but she does not like me yet .. she has stopped hissing at me now and she sits and talks to me some times through the window .. so I hope we can become good friends soon.
Sunny Jack
I go for walks most days and I have a new bed with a nice warm blanket and mat .. I have a rope that I love to play with and balls and other chew stuff .. like bones and sticks etc.

My mum comes out and plays with me every day it is really cool .. she said she is starting to loose weight with all the exercise.

There is a window that goes to ground level in her bathroom and I sit there the whole time she is in the bathroom .. I can see her working in the office and I watch her on the computer .. sometimes I just go to sleep it is boring.

I start school on Monday night and my mum says that I will learn how to walk on a lead properly and how to be a good dog for them.

My Mum and Dad have been working in the garden and I tried to help but I do not think Mum liked being licked on the face but my Dad did not mind so much.

The photo is me at my new home .. do you like my new collar and name tag!

Thank you for giving me a second chance.
Love Sunny Jack

Steven

Hi Lynne and PAA Staff
We just wanted to let you know that Steven has fitted into a little family perfectly .. he is happy and healthy and shiny and adorable.
Sometimes he even gets up off the lounge to run around the back yard .. but as you can see from the photos that does not happen very often!!

Steven is the most beautiful natured dog...he is friendly and placid and is a great mate for both me and my son Lochie .. he loves to go for walks and for car rides...but he is equally happy just chilling out.

As you can see also see from the photos hes getting very good at chilling out .. we just wanted to thank Peninsula Animal Aid for the great work that you do .. and for bringing Steven into out family .. we love him very much.

Many Thanks
Vicki and Lochie
