Peninsula Animal Aid has a team of volunteers who make it possible to provide our services to the cats and dogs who come to us looking for new homes or to return to the homes they wandered away from. Three key areas of the shelter requiring volunteers are Office Administration The Cattery The Kennels There are a wide variety of other activities in the Shelter which could be of interest to volunteers .. for example; driving the van ..lawn mowing and many other every day chores. PLEASE NOTE:   All volunteers must be 16 years or older .. we need people who are physically fit .. mentally alert and can work without close supervision. Peninsula Animal Aid has a team of people who assist in the orientation and ongoing support of the Volunteers in our Shelter. If you have the time .. we have the job! Office Volunteers PAA currently needs experienced Administration/Office volunteers to work in the office on Tuesday .. Wednesday or Thursday each week from 8.00am to 3.00pm. Good customer service and computer data entry skills are needed in these roles. Our Office Staff Co-ordinator is Heather .. she oversees a fabulous team of Office Administrators .. our more experienced volunteers are on hand to help and support new volunteers Anyone interested in working in this area can  Email Heather  or  call the PAA Office  on  (07) 3284 1927 and leave a message for  Heather Help Feed and Clean the Cattery and Dog Kennels PAA desperately need volunteers daily to help with cleaning .. feeding .. walking and cuddling our furry friends .. it is essential that you are an animal lover. CAN YOU START at 8.00am UNTIL Approx: 2.00pm? The Kennels The Dog Kennel's include dogs of all sizes and breeds .. you must be comfortable with dogs and have a good understanding of basic safe walking and handling principles. Each day we have designated duty managers who supervise the care of all dogs in the shelter and oversee the work of the kennel volunteers. Required Skills: Walking .. Bending .. Pulling and Lifting .. Sense of Humour and a friendly manner. PAA Cattery also have a buddy system in place for new volunteers until they are comfortable to work on their own. An excellent team of volunteers who keep our cats and kittens happily waiting for their new homes or getting back to the ones they seem to have misplaced. Volunteering Sunday Morning Cattery The weather is warming up and we require volunteers to assist in the Cattery between 6.00am and 9.00am. Some selected weekdays are still available for voluntary work .. please contact coordinator if you can help. Contact the PAA Office on (07) 3284 1927 ask to be put through to the Cat Supervisor Cinderella PAA require a Washing Lady or Gentleman for two or three hours a day to help wash bed linen .. blankets .. hang laundry and remove dry linen from court yard. PAA have a (NEW) ride on lawn mower .. available to a selected gentleman once a month to assist PAA with lawn mowing. As you can imagine we have goggles .. ear muffs and gloves to fully complete your volunteer experience. If you can spare some time once a month please call .. the grass is greener. We cannot run these Fundraising Events without YOU the public to help us. It will take a few hours of your time now and again .. so please come forward and volunteer with us .. these events help our wonderful shelter stay afloat.
